Send your name to Mars

What if I say you can send your name to Mars for absolutely free?. It is a tough thing to swallow, right? But sending your name to Mars is as easy as doing nothing. Here’s how you can send one on the next NASA rover in 2026.

Your name will be launched in space. NASA has re-opened its “Send Your Name to Mars” portal, where you can sign up to send your name into space on a future Mars mission. It will be sitting alongside more than 10 million tickets who have already signed up to have their name etched onto a microchip that will be on board that future craft.

You also receive a cool ‘Boarding Pass” which you can download and brag around (only if you have friends).

The submitted names will be reviewed and approved first and then the Microdevices Laboratory at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory will stencil the names on a silicon chip using an electron beam.

It’s free to sign up to have your name on the next Mars mission. The portal only asks for your name, country, postal code, and email address. Don’t you worry, Your information is completely safe with NASA.
